The contact adhesive CONTI^® SECUR bonds various types of extruded products to conveyor belt covers to stop bulk goods rolling back along moving belts.

Unlike the hot repair and hot pressing of splices, CONTI® SECUR BFA requires no energy input, nor is it necessary to set up and use a vulcanizing press. In this way, conveyor belts can be repaired or spliced quickly on site, even under difficult conditions, thus preventing long downtimes with a minimum of effort. CONTI® SECUR BFA adhesive cement is also used to bond corrugated sidewalls onto conveyor belts. These profiles, which have heights up to 400 millimeters, keep bulk goods such as grain, coal or stones from falling off the side of the belt. This increases the volumes that can be transmitted and thus the efficiency of the conveyor. A further application of the contact adhesive is the bonding of CORREX® laggings to conveyor pulleys, providing them protection from corrosion, moisture and dirt accumulation. Less time is required for maintenance and the pulleys have a much longer service life. The advantages of conveyors equipped in this way are demonstrated by the exceptionally wide variety of applications. For instance, aquaplaning between the belt and pulley is prevented on conveyors in gravel works, thus ruling out conveyor downtimes due to belt failure.
